Overcoming the World
But he who endures to the end shall be saved. –Matthew 24:13
-
We can face changes in life, even chaos, if we have confidence and instruction on how to make it through. When Jesus prepared to leave earth and return to the Father, He told His disciples, "In the world you will have tribulation." That sounds daunting and discouraging; how would they survive the future? But Jesus didn't end there. He also said, "But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). In other words, the future will be challenging, but I am telling you ahead of time so that you will persevere.
We live in life-changing times which will likely become even more challenging (Matthew 24:4-14). Thank God today that Christ has overcome the world and through Him we can overcome too. Amen!
ACKNOWLEDGE GOD
"Thank You, Lord, for all You do
for me."
Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn away from evil. -Proverbs 3:5-7
Acknowledging God in all our ways means to pay attention to Him, to share our plans with Him, and to let Him know that if He doesn’t approve of any of them, we will make whatever changes He wants. It means we don’t want to do anything that does not have God’s approval. Talking to and listening for God throughout the day is a wonderful habit to form.
I encourage you to whisper several times a day, “I love You, Lord. Thank You for all You do for me.”
Give us day by day our daily bread.
Luke 11:3
When we trust God for daily provisions, it teaches us to depend on Him and His faithfulness to us. He gives us daily bread, daily strength, daily encouragement, daily opportunities, and daily fellowship with Himself and others. Trust His provision and be sure to thank Him for His kindness to you each day.
